Whats the word for when objects such as streets run parallel to lines of latitude and longitude?

I'm mapping Manhattan and in doing so I rotated it so that the streets run North-South and East-West (normally they're off by 29 degrees) and I forgot the term for when the streets do that. I'm pretty sure the term can apply to anything, but I've only heard it relating to streets. Thanks in advance.
