Travelling From Mount Isa QLD to WA with a cat.. IN A CAR..?

we are moving to Wa soon and need to take our cat SOX with us in the car.. any advice on helping the trip run as smoothly as possible? The trip will be over 50 hours.. but only travelling 8-10 hrs a day and staying in a motel each night.please help. im worried he wont be okay for the trip!
