Can I use tobacco while on prednisone? (steroid)?

I just got a prednisone "boost" shot about an hour ago. I was just wondering if anybody knew whether or not you can use tobacco (dip) while on prednisone. I heard that prednisone raises your heart rate and so does nicotine so I'm just wondering if that's a dangerous combo.
